Beschreibung: | The University Hospital Essen is a pace setter for first-rate medical services in the Ruhr metropolis. Every year, 225.000 patients are treated here in 26 clinics, 23 institutes and specialized centers. Duties and responsibilities: The successful candidate will become part of an interdisciplinary group working in the field of Radiopharmaceutical Chemistry, focused on the development of radiolabeled compounds for imaging and therapy. The position requires knowledge of synthetic chemistry, coordination chemistry, radiochemistry, and radiopharmacy. The project will also include the development of novel radiosynthesis methodology, product formulation and quality control procedures, aiming at clinical transfer of experimental radiopharmaceuticals. |
Qualifizierung: | Qualifications: Candidates for these fellowships will be selected in accordance with motivation, skills and qualification. Applicants must have: •A PhD (or equivalent) in Chemistry or related fields. •Experience in radiochemistry and radiotracer synthesis. •Hands-on experience with short-lived radionuclides, in particular, radiometal chemistry. •Knowledge pertinent to nanocarriers, such as nanoparticles or liposomes, would be advantageous. Personal qualities: •Excellent communication skills and good command of German and English in both, oral and in writing. •Willingness to work in a team and to organize and coordinate scientific activities. •Willingness to acquire third-party funding at later project stages. •Ability and commitment to work flexibly and to deadlines. |

Zusätzliche Information: | The pay grade classification depends on the personal and collective legal requirements. In accordance with the laws regarding scientific fixed-term contracts (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz) or the Teilzeit-und Befristungsgesetz, the employment is provided for the postdoctoral research fellowship for a two years limited period. Under certain circumstances (continuation of project in case of success), the holder of the position can be offered a permanent contract.
